Broken Crystal

       Let's get through this first.
My name is Crystal. I'm eighteen; I have sandy blonde with tight curls. I have these icy blue eyes which my friends are jealous of. I have this awesome friend; he's like the whole package-athlete, academic, council member. His name is Braydon, known as a teen detective. My mum was rich but she got married to this poor guy who is so violent before she passed away seven years ago.
       Here's the story.
One day, I was alone in my room which was feeling cozy and snug. I was waiting for my sister; she was coming home after meeting her fiance. I stared at the window for hours. I could see the snow piling up at my backyard through the frosted windowpane. But as time passed, I began to feel sleepy and eventually, I fell asleep on the couch.
All of a sudden, I woke up without thinking because of the sharp noise of a scream from my sister's room. While I was rushing to her room, I heard a whistle. A minute later, I heard the sound of a falling metal. She opened the door and yelled "Crys! It was the orange band!" She wanted to say more, but she couldn't. She fell down on the floor in front of me. I was surprised. Soon, I called for help to the police.
I went back to my room, locked the door and stood up all along with an absent mind. I was fueled with the power of confusion and panic.
I came back to my sense and took my phone.
"Hi, what's up Crystal?" Braydon answered, his voice sounding low and strained. My hands were shaking. My whole body was, practically.
"Hey, can we meet up tomorrow...?" My eyes were filled with tears.
  "Are you.... crying?"
"Can you come over tomorrow morning? I need to talk to you"
"Sure. Get some rest Crys. See you tomorrow!"
  "Bye"
I hung up the phone. I couldn't stop crying. I stayed up all night with my memories playing back through my mind. The day went bright. There, I saw Braydon in front of the front gate.
I told him everything I could think of. I told him every inch of my house. I told him about the windows, the doors, and the whistle sound at night, the falling sound of the metal and everything.
He looked very serious. I let him enter my sister's room. He checked her bathroom.
"Is this bathtub plug always plugged?"
"No.... I guess she forgot to plug it after she cleaned up the bathroom" And I could see him thinking. Then, we checked on my step father's room as Braydon wanted.
"What's this metal box near the bathroom?"
"I think he keeps his medical reports in there"
"Does he keep a puppy? Look. There is some milk left on the box!" Then he said, "Can I stay in your room just for a day? I think this is a serious problem".
"Sure" I replied. I think he was up to something.
Then at night, I could see him wandering in the bathroom with a wooden bat. It seemed like he was waiting for something. I was bored and I fell asleep. Again.
'BAAAAAAAAANG!' I heard a loud noise and the sound of a whistle. t was Braydon hitting the bathtub hole. I looked at him with a weird face. He then shouted.
"CRYSS! Did you see that? Now we should go to your stepfather's room. RIGHT NOW!" And we did. We went there. I saw the aura of death enveloping him. He soon died. I asked Braydon what had just happened. He answered with an imposing air.
"Look." Pointing at a long orange band below the body. I stared at it. I saw it wiggling. Braydon took it and put it in the metal box.
"The orange band was a posion snake. I was the one who killed your sister. It went through the pipe and reached your sister's bathtub and poisoned her. And because he was a doctor, he knew that this snake's poison is difficult to find in a dead body. He whistled to call it back and put it inside this metal box. The milk? Yes. Snakes drink milk. He was trying to kill you both for money."
"But if he's the one who tried to kill us, why is he dead?"
"Easy. I hit the snake when it came to your bathroom. It got mad and bit him instead."
"This is a tragic end because of being a covet."
And yet, I'm all broken. I'm alone.

The Lottery

This short story called the 'The Lottery' is written by Shirley Jackson in 1948. It's about a tradition of a small village which ends with a person's death to return their thanks to their Gods. In this story, we can see that people of that village in the story, tend to do a lottery of death just because it is one of their traditions. Which really makes me think that this is ridiculous is that the person who 'wins' the lottery will get stoned by the villagers, no matter what or who he/she is. It says in the story that her husband and children also threw stones at her which causes her to death. I think this is crazy. How can you even kill your own family member just to get the result of getting many corps? I won't do that. I would just die in hunger rather than killing my own family. To conclude, i find this story really crazy.

To be honest, I find this interesting too (Even though it is tragic) because the end of the story was unexpected  like that. I thought the lottery was about winning some prizes but at the end it comes for death. I had no idea it would be like that because there were no explanations and people mostly think lottery as gaining prizes/money. But as I over read the story, I found some hints from the writer above telling about the stoning which were the black box, children gathering and piling stones, and it said there the lottery are always done in June(because harvest month is around August).

War Horse Movie Review

'War horse' is a historcal, fictional and a family movie which all aged people are able to enjoy watching. Steven Spielberg who is the director of this movie has fashioned Michael Mourpurgo's best-selling novel, which also has the same name 'War Horse'. The cast include Jeremy Irvine as Albert Narracott, a young teenage boy who is the son of a tough West Country farmer Ted, played by Peter Mullan and Rose is a tough-minded mother played by Emily Watson and Tom Hiddleston as Captain James Nicholls who is the British officer who has a wide heart for Albert and Joey as the horse, which is a leading character even though he's not a human.

This story begins from Devon, England where the Narracotts family lives. There is a horse auction in the village where Ted's eye faces on a horse called Joey. He buys Joey, a Throughbred as much as 30 guineas even though he doesn't need him. He brings Joey home and was immediately drawn to the animal. Albie (Ted's son) also witness the birth of the foal. However, Rosie (Ted's wife) is outraged and she asks Ted to take him back to the auction where he bought Joey. After hearing this, Albie refuses and offers to train Joey. Albie was able to plough the field. The Narracott family needs money and has plans of planting turnips in their rocky bottom field. Ted promises the landlord, Lyons that the debts will soon be paid. So Albie works hard training the horse and finally Joey is able to plough the whole field. But because they can't afford to pay all the debts, Ted makes up his mind to sell Joey to the captain soldier who is Captain Nicholls. Will fate bring Joey and Albie back together again?

This movie has lots of dramatic scenes between Albie and Joey. They made those scenes more emotional and tender by their great acting. The actors in this movie were all able to move people's heart. Due to their fascinating acting skills, some of the actors from this movie won awards as the result. The behind reasons of their heartfelt and marvelous acting scenes were also helped by the camera angles. The camera angles create different kinds of effects in a situation, which may tell a story into various stories. By different types of camera angles, we are able to communicate in various expressions through our vision. For example, there was a scene using the extreme close up shot, which showed the details of what the director wanted the viewers to focus in that scene. The actors are able to create scenes with more powerful expressions according to the situations through the help of the camera angles.

This movie is really worth seeing. Some people may say that this is a childish fictional story but they wouldn't be able to stop the movie because even though it is a fictional movie, it will still touch the bottom of your heart. You shouldn't miss it because the bond between human and animal, which the production treats so movingly, is bound to touch our hearts!

Who should be blamed on?

On the 8th of September 2013, a 13-year-old boy was caught in a car accident with the death of 7 people. His name is Abdul Qodier Jaelani (also known as Dul), the youngest son of Ahmad Dhani. This accident happened when he was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer on his way back home from Bogor to Jakarta. It happened at around 00:45. The cause of this crash is due to his high speed while crossing the toll road. His car crashed to a road divider, which turned his car to opposite side of the road with the collision of two cars. In this case, I think Dul’s father should be responsible and should be blamed on.

First, driving fewer than 18+ is illegal in the laws of Indonesia’s Government. Every citizen of Indonesia sure would know this. Without the driving license, we are not able to drive. Of course, Ahmad Dhani also know about the existence of this law in this country. The problem is, even though he knew about this, he still gave the permission to drive. Well, let’s say that he actually didn't know what was going on. Maybe he didn’t actually give his permission to let him drive. But it’s still his fault for not making him sure or makes him notice that driving under age is illegal and is dangerous.

Secondly, his father paid the damages from the car accident anyway. We all know, he is still 13, which is not that old enough yet. Every child who made mistakes or who went through accidents, sure were all paid and solved by their parents. They would not be able to blame the little children with such young age, they will probably blame their parents for not teaching them well the right things that are supposed to be in that way.

People might say that he is too young to make proper decisions by himself or he is actually having his puberty period that affects the human minds’ lag in making decisions, which caused him in making a irresponsible choice. Well, I agree, that’s true. However, we can’t blame on him due to this natural phenomena happening in all people’s bossy development stages. That is natural. People make mistakes. But the others around them give advice or warnings to make sure they won’t repeat the same thing. Ahmad Dhani, as a father should’ve paid more attention on him, because he is Dul’s father. In other way, which means a good role model and a good background for him in continuing in his life. Yes, and I know he is 13. He is young and he can make irresponsible decisions. But in another way around, because he is still young and he didn’t really knew about the outer world which is wilder than the inner world, the father should’ve told him the things that he should and shouldn’t do. Even though he has a busy life, he still has his role as a father too. And I think being the best father for his son is the best thing he can do.

I would like to conclude that in this case, Ahmad Dhani, who is Dul’s father should be blamed on and should take the responsibility because mostly, parents should be taking the consequences and the responsibility of their children no matter what, because they are their supervisor of their lives and it’s a fact that, any damages from the mistakes or accidents caused by young-aged children, will be all paid by their parents as they not know well as their parents and because they do not have experiences as they are still young.

11. Pour a little milk while you flatten the flour on the tray
12.  Cut into sections and brush with milk (I did it in square sides but actually you should do triangles for cones.. When cutting it, you don't need to make it separated because it will automatically be separated into pieces after it is baked).
13. Bake for around 20~25 mins and you're done :D
This is my result of baking scones:

Let me introduce my pet :)

I just want to introduce my pet, her name is Zibi. She came to my family when I was in the 5th grade. My mum's friend left her with us because they had move. I don't really know why she is called Zibi but I like it :) She is white and she understands Korean. I was amazed. Well, one thing that I can't understand is that she likes to get into plastic bags. Any plastic bags. I'm trying to find out the reason why. Another things is that she has different eye colors which are blue and yellow. Do you have a pet too?
