On the 8th of September 2013, a 13-year-old boy was caught in a car accident with the death of 7 people. His name is Abdul Qodier Jaelani (also known as Dul), the youngest son of Ahmad Dhani. This accident happened when he was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer on his way back home from Bogor to Jakarta. It happened at around 00:45. The cause of this crash is due to his high speed while crossing the toll road. His car crashed to a road divider, which turned his car to opposite side of the road with the collision of two cars. In this case, I think Dul’s father should be responsible and should be blamed on.
First, driving fewer than 18+ is illegal in the laws of Indonesia’s Government. Every citizen of Indonesia sure would know this. Without the driving license, we are not able to drive. Of course, Ahmad Dhani also know about the existence of this law in this country. The problem is, even though he knew about this, he still gave the permission to drive. Well, let’s say that he actually didn't know what was going on. Maybe he didn’t actually give his permission to let him drive. But it’s still his fault for not making him sure or makes him notice that driving under age is illegal and is dangerous.
Secondly, his father paid the damages from the car accident anyway. We all know, he is still 13, which is not that old enough yet. Every child who made mistakes or who went through accidents, sure were all paid and solved by their parents. They would not be able to blame the little children with such young age, they will probably blame their parents for not teaching them well the right things that are supposed to be in that way.
People might say that he is too young to make proper decisions by himself or he is actually having his puberty period that affects the human minds’ lag in making decisions, which caused him in making a irresponsible choice. Well, I agree, that’s true. However, we can’t blame on him due to this natural phenomena happening in all people’s bossy development stages. That is natural. People make mistakes. But the others around them give advice or warnings to make sure they won’t repeat the same thing. Ahmad Dhani, as a father should’ve paid more attention on him, because he is Dul’s father. In other way, which means a good role model and a good background for him in continuing in his life. Yes, and I know he is 13. He is young and he can make irresponsible decisions. But in another way around, because he is still young and he didn’t really knew about the outer world which is wilder than the inner world, the father should’ve told him the things that he should and shouldn’t do. Even though he has a busy life, he still has his role as a father too. And I think being the best father for his son is the best thing he can do.
I would like to conclude that in this case, Ahmad Dhani, who is Dul’s father should be blamed on and should take the responsibility because mostly, parents should be taking the consequences and the responsibility of their children no matter what, because they are their supervisor of their lives and it’s a fact that, any damages from the mistakes or accidents caused by young-aged children, will be all paid by their parents as they not know well as their parents and because they do not have experiences as they are still young.
